The Akwaaba Mansion was built in the 1860’s and has been Black owned ever since. In 1995 the fifth Black family to own the mansion turned it into a Bed and Breakfast and the rest is history. Truly, Akwaaba should be a museum of African-American history. Akwaaba reigns as the only bed and breakfast in Bedford-Stuyvesant, and now has three other locations in the northeast are.
Basically this is a big deal.
